I bought this Stand at a local Sally's beauty supply (on sale for $4.99). It looks like it's made of quality, sturdy plastic. Four suction cups cling securely when it's placed on a smooth, flat surface. I add a drop of water first to each cup for super strong suction. I've used this stand every day for almost 2 months and it hasn't yet slipped, come loose or tipped over.

Previously I assumed a small towel placed under a new hot flat iron (over 410°F) would be enough to protect my bathroom counter from the high heat - until later when I removed the towel and noticed it burned through to the countertop. This stand solves that problem because it holds hot styling tools securely away from the counter, and tolerates high heat well. I only wish I bought it sooner!

Note: this stand looks like an exact duplicate of some other more expensive brands. Save your money - this one works great!
