Review: Not a good idea for people with thick, coarse hair

First of all, I have coarse, thick hair under my arms, but my hair is thinner on my arms. I have only shaved my arms once or twice, but not recently. I shaved my armpits a few days ago, so there wasn't a lot of regrowth.
I used this on my armpits THREE times and it only removed a little bit of hair. The first time, I put a little and waited for about 8 minutes. Nothing was removed. The second time I used a bigger glob and waited the full 10 minutes. I lost a couple of hairs (which I think I plucked out, rather than actually let the formula do the trick) and the tips of some of the hairs. I finally used an even bigger glob (my armpit was completely white) and waited 12 minutes, against the instructions and warnings on the product. I can say that it didn't hurt my skin, but it definitely did NOT remove all of the hair. I had to shave afterward to get all the hair off.
On the bright side, the hair on my arms is a little less thick, so when I tested it on a small patch there, the hair was removed like a charm within 10 minutes. (Didn't feel like it attacked the roots though) Too bad I don't really need to use this on my arms. I mostly needed it for my bikini-line, legs, and armpits, all of which have thick, coarse hairs after years of shaving.
Bottom-line: Stick to shaving. I feel like it's faster and removes more hair. I wouldn't even use this product if I was too lazy to shave. I would use it if I had thin hairs I wanted to remove more or less completely, or if I had an aversion to sharp razor blades.
P.S. The product smells like a chemical used for when I got a perm. It's not too bad, but it can be overwhelming if a lot is applied.
