I mainly bought this because I wanted some green or purple mascara and was happy to find this in green. The quality is good, it coats well, and the green is pretty strong, but not weirdly so (if you're a bit adventurous anyways). It also is a bit fun just to add a bit of it to the tips of blackened lashes for a tiny pop of color. Some waterproof mascaras are a pain in the butt to remove, but this stuff is much easier to take off. For buying basic black or brown, I'd probably just get a drugstore brand for $4 (so I can splurge more on other makeup, naturally), but for waterproof mascara, I'm very happy with this, and I'm psyched that I can find some funky green lash paint.
