So i just received my SHANY brush set today, and i was suppose to get it tomorrow, so thats a good thing.
Before i purchased the set, i read most of the reviews and noticed that the ratings were either good or poor. Well i figured people have different opinions, different liking, skin types, etc. so i went ahead and bought it. So today, once i got them, i deep cleaned and conditioned the set.
I checked youtube, to see other peoples ratings on this set. There was one that caught my attention. She stated that after cleaning and conditioning (such as i did) she still wasnt pleased. Her brushes were shedding, it wasnt soft, not did it pick up much product.
After i cleaned them, i put them to use, and i was actually pleased. The brushes were soft, it picked up enough product for my liking, and (SO FAR) theres no shedding at all. So i thought maybe its the type of bristles, hair, whatever they are called. i noticed that in the youtube video, her brushes were black, just like the picture shown, where as the hair/bristles on mine are a brownish red. So i dont know if that can be a contributing factor.
Its still too early to say "BUY THIS PRODUCT!" but so far so good.

Its almost been a year, and the brushes are still in good shape... sort of.
There is still no shedding, and by far, the softest face brushes i own. My MAC 187 sheds more than my shany face brushes.
They other small brushes, however, i find useless. i use the majority of them for concealer since none of them are not dense enough to use but for concealer. There was one brush in particular that shed like a dog. it was one of the little ones. Also, the glue in the barrel wore out, so the handle comes off on some.
That's basically all thats happened within a year of having them. Nothing major, besides not having a handle, but thats fixable. Id say BUY IT if you want soft brushes. Its a good buy, especially for beginners.
