I bought this flat iron when I moved in to the dorm as a freshman in college. I needed something of quality, but not top of the line, so I chose this as a middle ground. I am very glad I did. 5 years later I am out of college and still use this! Is it the absolute best piece of equipment that straightens my hair? Maybe not. But this flat iron has outlasted pretty much everything else I've ever owned; and I don't even baby it! It's been dropped maybe 300 times, left on for entire weekends, had makeup and drinks spilled on it, been yanked by the cord, on too many airplane and car trips to count, and just overall banged out around. Let me tell you, this thing is tough. It works as well as it did when I got it. Still heats up quickly, evenly, and does the job. I've never reviewed a product on Amazon but felt that the longevity this straightener has given me was worth the trouble. Get this guy, it will pay for itself in a year and then you can have it for many many more. As far as performance: it gets very hot and glides smooth. I have frizzy, wavy hair and it doesn't ever catch or pull on it. From mane to tame in around 10 minutes. It is the best buy for a straightener that I've seen. Reliable and durable, what more could you ask for?
