Product reviews of SpaSensials* 4-Step Rejuvenating Foot Treatment System (2 Treatments) Review: I sure wish they worked. Beauty product: 1 Stars
When I saw these advertised, I was excited, and I don't get excited about new products very often. I have hideously dry, sensitive skin, and I've had to sleep with socks on my lotioned feet and old cotton gloves on my greasy hands at least a few nights a week. In winter, I am a cracked and scaly mess. This product promised freedom from that not too attractive regimen - the same result in just a short time, and all in one piece. I excitedly ordered two packages: one for hands, one for feet.
The box came and I opened it excitedly. First disappointment. Although the package made it sound as if there were six treatments inside, there were only four. The other two treatments were plastic scrubber biscuits that looked more like I should use them to degrease a roaster than wash my hands or feet with them. I tried them anyway and *ouch* - wayyy too scratchy, and definitely should have been saved for roasting pans. But no matter, hope springs eternal, and I opened the little stretch sock packet, a foil envelope much like the one that holds wet-naps, but greatly enlarged.
Before the packet was all the way open, the strong perfume used in the cream just about knocked me over. I am not a fan of cheap floral perfume, but if I develop such a craving, I know where to look. But I still had to use the sock-things, which were made of a squishy webbing and felt cold and damp. I put them on and covered them with a pair of old cotton socks to knock down some of the odor. Didn't want to announce my presence to people walking by my house.
I could feel the cool lotion coming out of the mesh onto my feet, and I was hopeful that my tootsies would be smooth, moisturized and pain-free in a half-hour. Although the packet advised against walking, I wasn't going to spend the half hour sitting on the rim of my bathtub, so I carefully walked to the living room to watch television. Five seconds later, I was banished from the living room because of the smell. I carefully moved to the den to sit alone and watch television for the prescribed half-hour.
Eventually, my time was up. I removed the netted socks to find that the lotion was nowhere near as moisturizing as the one I was used to using (Cerave or even vaseline), and my feet were developing a rash, presumably because of the perfume (your mileage may vary - I have sensitive skin). I had to wash my feet to remove the residue and the perfume, and go back to square minus one: I had to get the rash under control with cortisone cream for a day or two and then re-start my "heavy-duty cream and old-socks while sleeping" regime.
As for the rest of the "treatments?" I couldn't give them to friends in all good conscience, and the packages are very, very far from being recyclable. I stuffed them in the trash feeling guilty for spending money on such junk that has a package that will live in the landfill for heaven knows how long. Definitely not one of my better purchases.
Review: SpaSensials are Great Beauty product: 4 Stars
I purchased this for my wife and she has enjoyed them very much. They are an inexpensive way to get your feet soft and smooth. They are easy to work with and easy to understand instructions make it nearly foolproof. I would definitely recommend them to those who like smooth feet.
Review: Spasensials Beauty product: 5 Stars
Excellent product. I have very pure circulation in my left foot due to almost amputating it as a child. I'm lucky I walk without a limp. This was the first product I found which totally softened the skin on this foot. Even my pedicurist could not get over the results from just one use of the foot socks. I am so delighted with this item I can't tell you what a difference it has made.
Review: Winner Beauty product: 5 Stars
I bought this foot treatment as a gift for my wife. She loved it and has bought more for herself. Great gift. Almost as good as chocolate or flowers.
