This is the second identical SuperStar hair straightener that I have owned. The first one I bought from a beauty supply store. I used it for about 4 years and it worked great, but then towards the end it stopped turning on. It would turn on for a few seconds and then turn off. I thought maybe it had just worn out so I purchased a new one from Amazon. This one never worked from the start. It only turns on 50% of the time and has been so frustrating! Especially considering how much I paid for it. Don't buy this product! Review: Superstar Straightener

I love this flat iron! I have gone through three to find this one. It's not overpriced, it has adjustable heat settings, it's sturdy with high quality plates and a swivel cord. It just works, no matter your hair because of the heat settings. I like the 1in plate width because it makes it versatile enough to straighten or curl. Finally, it is light enough to be used for travel. Save your money on the Chi/Fhi and buy this one!
