Review: Great for Fine Hair Beauty product: 5 Stars
This product works great on my fine, straight hair -- it makes it appear thicker and hold a style better, without weighing it down or making it greasy. It's meant to be used before blow-drying, but I discovered that even if I don't blow-dry, it still works pretty well. You don't get as much volume that way, but you still get some thickness and hold. I don't like blow-drying my hair (I'm lazy and don't want the heat damage) so this was a happy discovery for me!
Review: This gave my hair a weird texture. Beauty product: 1 Stars
I have fine hair and needed some volume. I wasn't too impressed with this product. After I used it (every time, mind you) my hair had a really weird texture, it didn't feel nice when I touched it and it made my hair heavy. I couldn't wait to wash it out each time. I kept going back to using it because I thought maybe I hadn't used it properly the time before. I experimented with the amount of product I put on and where I applied it, and every time it was the same. I ended throwing out the bottle that was still half full.
Review: Volume not impressive, messy to work with Beauty product: 2 Stars
I've used lots of volumizing products on my straight, fine Scandinavian hair. This is one of my least favorite. It's very thin liquid, which is hard to apply...you can't really spread it around and make sure it's applied evenly. You can very easily apply way too much without realizing it, or have a patch with way too much on it. Oh, you'll realize it once your hair is almost dry...as it looks weird and frizzy, and you might have a crispy patch or two. I gave it two stars because it DOES add volume, it's not totally useless. It's just not worth how much of a pain it is to apply. There are better products out there! If your hair is longer, try Sexy Hair's version of this TIGI Superstar gel, called Big Sexy Blow Dry Volume Gel. That one's much easier to apply, and it delivers almost the exact same results without the crispy frizz. If you have short hair (above shoulder-length), try a dimesize of TIGI Small Talk styling cream. (Whatever your hair length, try the TIGI Catwalk rootboost spray...it can be used in conjunction with a volumizing gel/cream or on its own, and it rocks!)
Review: What does this actually do... Beauty product: 2 Stars
I had this product on the shelf for over a year. Everyime I used it, except for making my hair a bit easier to comb through, I wondered: what is this product supposed to be doing?
Maybe I got the one that was diluted with water at the store-- because I could never figure it out... As a disclaimer, I do have naturally thick hair so maybe that is a reason this never impressed me much.
I finally emptyed my bottle and recycled it to make room for some better products on my shelf.
