Review: intense scrub, strange smell

This is a pretty intense scrub. I have to use a washcloth b/c it feels too scratchy for my bare hands!
The scrub particles seems square as well - which means, use for body only, not for face.
The smell is gingery, but it smells a little funny to me. I actually wondered at first whether the product might be old or expired.
However, the scrub still works well and the scent isn't unpleasant, just not really what I was expecting. I would say it smells more like those carrot products that are so popular these days, not as spicy as I'd expect from a "ginger" scent.
