There is a lot of controversy and false advertising surrounding colloidal silver. I've done a lot of research with it, and I know one or two things about the stuff. There are a number of things you have to consider when using it, (and personally, as a result of my research and experience with it, I would never drink the stuff myself. I've only used it in a laboratory setting). The FDA does not regulate it because manufacturers pass it off as a "nutritional s upplement" which isn't what people intend to do with it at all--they want it to be a miracle cure for all kinds of illnesses. I have been surfing the web looking for pure colloidal silver to use in a new antimicrobial experiment, and I came across this. I can tell you right now that pretty much everything they're claiming in that blurb is blatantly wrong. First of all, "There is no known disease causing organism that can live in the presence of even minute traces of Colloidal Silver." I can tell you right now that I have tested up to 20 ppm silver against pathogens in a lab setting with absolutely no results. I'm still trying to find a high enough concentration to have any effect. Second, look at the ingredients. The product markets itself to be "99.9% Pure Silver" and it called "Ultra Pure Colloidal Silver." Colloids are particles of neutral metals (with a net charge of zero) that are permanently suspended in water, but not dissolved. Ionic silver, on the other hand, has a charge of -1 and IS dissolved. Often "colloidal silver" products really only contain about 20-30% silver colloids, and the rest of the concentration on the label is ionic. Ionic silver is DANGEROUS to consume at high concentrations, and I would not recommend it. It can cause a permanent skin discoloration called Argyrria and affects kidney function.
